About Michel Ruurda
My name is Michel Ruurda. I am Australian, born and raised, a natural citizen and current resident of the Sunshine Coast (just above Brisbane) in beautiful Queensland. My education includes diplomas in Management, Project Management, Administration, Planning (Economics & Taxation) and Carpentry from different training institutes and the University of Queensland.
In the computer industry I have an active, hands-on background in IT Systems including Windows NT, 2000, XP, Millennium, Windows 7, LAN, WAN and SAP. My work in different corporations and business structures afforded me personal experience with many popular business software packages including MS Office Suite, Microsoft Project Pro, PROCOMM PLUS, BOSS data collection and analysis and many more.
Michel Ruurda goes the extra mile…
While my working career has kept me busy I’ve a natural desire to learn and have always made the time to develop my skills and augment my education, gathering certificates which have proven invaluable to all my trades. Some of these are Certified Dive Instructor, Occupational Health & Safety Qualified Trainer, Workplace Harassment Training, Risk Assessment and Estate Planning.
Michel Ruurda global experience…
My career paths have allowed me to travel beyond Australia’s borders and I have been fortunate enough to personally experience other cultures and the intricacies of governing, banking and conducting business abroad. 2005, for example, found me Project Manager for a NATO Commercial development on a 12-month contract. Our Panel provided the base camp operations and infrastructure for more than 2000 personnel including housing and logistics requirements.
Michel Ruurda – important to feel part of something…
The project ultimately was valued at AUD$60 billion over ten years and the work of which I was a part continues today. I am happy to have been a part of such a noble effort and humbly realise that what I learned about security obligations and the needs of people in war-torn countries could only have been gleaned from hands-on experience.
